The goal of Chaplaincy Services is to fulfill the Great Commission by endorsing and providing pastoral support to Nazarene chaplains and military personnel around the world, equipping them for evangelism and fostering understanding throughout the Church of the Nazarene as the Church carries its message into unique and difficult areas.
Some ways of doing this:
- Identify and endorse qualified, competent, and God-called men and women to serve as chaplains with the armed forces, institutions (such as hospital and correctional facilities), and the workplace.
- Provide care, support, and encouragement for endorsed chaplains, enhance spiritual formation and evangelistic awareness.
- Provide liaison with commanding officers, supervisory chaplains, and CEO's/administrators when needed.
- Assist in placing chaplains after endorsement, retirement, or when released from their career due to downsizing or lack of promotion.
- Maintain a Service Members' Ministry by assisting host pastors and chaplains to keep in touch with all Nazarenes serving in the military.
- Offering a list of Host Churches to military personnel when they are stationed at various bases.
- Build and maintain a network with other denominational colleagues.
