A Stone

A stone buried, feels
refreshed, made new,
simply by a pearl
sized drop of rain.
Dry buried deep within
the soil, longing to be
touched, by something,
uncertain about when or by whom.
The earth shakes and trembles,
A pitter- patter noise touches
its ear. “Change to my surroundings
is happening.”
Touched with moisture, penetrating,
enveloping. Taking my
breath away ____ exhilarated___
and then it is gone.
